    The Metal Trades Council of New London County was certified on June 12,1945 by the National Labor Relations Board as the exclusive representative of employees at Electric Boat with affiliate unions for the purpose of collective bargaining with respect to wages, hours of work and other conditions such as the health and safety of its members.
